What does ‘sure’ mean and why not spell the word as it sounds – Shure? The -ur is Ur, the rune which refers to our population of people. Ur is symbolized by the uroch, a European buffalo now considered extinct. This is a symbol which expresses the basic, essential power of the people. If we envision a herd of buffalo on a frosty plain, the herd power is visible in the steam rising. That is the same life energy which we generate even as we just stand together in company. Our bodies have several systems for generating the various life energies which we produce. These various energies are expressed in sense elements like ure, ire, ere. There are other variants.
Sure is one that has enormous potential and broad usage. The determinant S represents Siegel, the enormous energy potential of the sun. The Sh sound represents this stupendous sun energy as a structural beam expressed through Mankind. The Hagal ‘h’ after ‘s’ is sounded but is not written because it isn’t actually a structural beam. Rather, this is a part of the poetry potential of English wherein we can play with the sense of words by the way we spell them and the way we vocalize them. Right now I’m just addressing the word ‘sure’ and the various ways we use it. We can put a lot of meaning into this word and we can also negate the sense, just by the way we pronounce it. For instance: Oh, shuurr, yeah!
The sense of this word can also get lost by being included in different words which we do not realize are related to it. Think assure, ensure, surety, sureties, insure, insurance. Each of these are supported by the monies paid into funds by the people. Terms of the agreements are (ideally)written into the policies. This is one of the great ideas that came-into-being with the awareness that a freeman has responsibilities, and rights, which must be underwritten. King Ælfred’s people grasped this principle.
This also resulted in an idea, sometime later, called demutualization. ‘Mutual’ refers to some thing that is held in common by more than one or two people. To de-mutualize is to take that surety thing and sell or distribute it to other people.
It behooves us to watch our words carefully and be certain what we want to give surety for. It is a wonderful- and very noble thing to do- to build a fund to assure help and to give assistance for those of us who have a need. This is an idea that was built into our language with the rune of Ingwaz, now expressed as ing and ng, once written as ng combined into a compound letter. This represented the fundamental principle of need-give, give-need which is pervasive throughout nature. In a Democratic Republic, this principle is essential, a kind of Yin-Yang of Democracy.
I really take comfort in hearing a neighbor say, “Sure, I will.” or ” Sure, I do.” A community of those with uroch energy who are willing to share it. That is a real incentive for me to invest some more assets for the common weal.. 09-30-2016JOH
